Georgina Gordon MBA, RGN, RMN,   Head of LOC Support Unit

Georgina Gordon was appointed as the first Head of the LOC Support Unit in September 2007. She has a substantial track record in the NHS having held both clinical and general management Board level positions in a number of major organisations. Her clinical background includes qualifications in general nursing, mental health nursing and she is a specialist in oncology. She obtained an MBA from Westminster University completing the programme in a year whilst working full time. Her most recent position was as a Director of Commissioning in London.

Richard Carswell -  Acting Head of Unit

is responsible for the strategic lead of unit and reporting on the Unit's activities to the LOCSU Board.   Richard has a wealth of experience in the optical healthcare sector and is also Deputy Chief Executive and Head of Regulatory Activities for Association of Optometrists (AOP).

Katrina Venerus - Director of Operations and Commissioning.  

Experienced LOCSU associate, Katrina has recently been appointed to lead LOCSU through commissioning reforms.   Katrina is an optometrist in independent practice in Newcastle upon Tyne.   Katrina has built a strong reputation in advising LOCS with the development of local enhanced services over   the past two years.
