The COVID Urgent Eyecare Service (CUES) in now well and truly up and running in Leeds.
A single contract has been agreed between NHS Leeds CCG and Primary Eyecare Services (PES) Ltd, who subcontract with local optical practices to deliver the service, who use 'Opera' - a new referral and image sharing platform.
A list of practices below are set up and delivering the service with a separate list where practices are marked as OCT practices.
We will produce a new list with Independent Prescribing optometrists when that element of the pathway is up and running, please note the IP pathway is not yet ready.
An important component of the service is to ensure the patient has an initial triage to ensure they are directed to the most suitable practice for their symptoms/condition.
LTHT have advised that they would like practitioners to use the following telephone numbers for Urgent Referrals 0113 206 5335/0113 206 4796. Please continue to send the referral via the Opera platform before making the call.
Practices receive payments between £45 and £70 per episode depending on the level of care provided.
For practice teams and practitioners new to delivering the service you can still watch the launch recording here:
It’s important all practitioners and practice teams delivering the service have watched the launch, read the documents and watched the videos on https://help.optom-referrals.org
If you wish to express an interest in providing the service and havent already done so, you can complete an expression of interest form.
