If you have a patient with WET AMD - phone 0161 276 5583 (Acute referral Centre Manchester Royal Hospital).

They will make the appointment for a rapid assessment.

Changes  to look for:

Patient symptoms: Metamorphopsia, Central scotoma, Decreased central vision, decreased contrast sensativity.

Changes in the eye:

Drusen accompanied by the recent sudden onset of any of the above symptoms (Refer if 6/60 or better)

New Vessels at fovea (Refer if 6/60 or better)

Leakage - new blood vessels leak blood and fluid (Refer if better than 6/60)
