Bucks Local Optical Committee is representative of all  ophthalmic contractors and performers  who are registered with the Buckinghamshire and   Milton Keynes PCTs. The contractors list and  performers list for these PCTs is now  held by Thames Valley Primary Care Agency.

The LOC's  primary function is to ensure the smooth running of General Ophthalmic Services within Buckinghamshire and Milton Keynes and to advise and develop these services.

It also sees its function as maintaining high standards of practice and runs many educational courses. For this purpose it is a registered CET provider.

Dispensing opticians who are not contractors are also welcome and encouraged to engage with the LOC and attend events.
