About the LOC
What is our role?
Leeds Local Optical Committee (LOC) is the official organisation representing optometrists and opticians within the NHS in Leeds.
We provide advice to and support local NHS Commisioners, practitioners and patients.
We help to redesign and improve eye-care pathways particularly new services that increase the provision of eye-care in the community
The LOC is a registered CET provider and hosts educational events several times per year.
The committee is elected by the AGM and meets 5-6 times per year. Individual members of the committee sit on other groups within Leeds and West Yorkshire to represent our viewpoint. We claim expenses for these meetings and for the time involved in other LOC related work.
