Local Optical Committee

This is a statutory body set up to oversee all issues relating to optometry and opticians in Warwickshire.

Composition: The LOC comprises Independent and Corporate Optometrists elected at the AGM, and representatives of the Primary Care Trust (PCT).

Aims & Objectives: To promote optometry and liase with the PCT and other bodies in the provision of optometry in Warwickshire.

Meetings: Meetings are open to LOC members and invited guests only, with the exception of the AGM held in April which is open to all Warwickshire optometrists.

Funding: The committee is funded by statutory and voluntary contributions deducted by the PCT from GOS (General Ophthalmic Services) Sight Tests in Warwickshire.
