Kent & Medway Local Optometric Committee (LOC) represents all Contractors and Performers (optometrists and OMPs)  providing General Ophthalmic Services (GOS) in the County. It provides advice and support to Contractors  on any matter concerning their GOS contract, also on locally agreed enhanced services, and on developments such as Clincal Governance. The LOC also acts as a provider and facilitator of local CET and Peer Review.

The LOC advises the three Primary Care Trusts (PCTs) in Kent on all matters affecting optometry by formulating collective views.  PCT/LOC Liaison Groups are established in Eastern & Coastal Kent and West Kent.
